Yes, it has been a red letter weekend. Alleluias, all around (seriously; God has been so encouraging this weekend)!
Not only did many of my school materials (ordered back in May, I believe!) come thru customs (which means I should be able to actually test and more effectively teach my students sometime Monday), but the Fishers of La Paz finally have Internet connection at home (I write this post, giddy as a little child on Christmas Day, from our dining room) as well. This particular blessing has many other implications… (more…)

Some friends have asked what our neighborhood is like, we hope to post some photos soon, but I thought I would try to describe it a bit. It is called Achumani, and it one of many small neighborhoods that make up the Zona Sur (or South Zone), which is the upper/upper middle class section of La Paz. We would not be able to afford living here if the family we rent from had not given us a significant discount. (more…)
